Process Development Engineer - Hillsboro, OR

Kokusai Semiconductor Equipment Corporation has extended its market positions in critical customer applications with enabling ALD, ASD, Diffusion, CVD, and treatment technologies. This position entails the developing and expanding cutting-edge semiconductor process using strong fundamental science/ engineering principles and concepts. The Process Engineer (PE) designs, plans, and performs engineering duties for major projects or for projects with moderate complexity under general guidance. The PE also requires having high interpersonal and communication skills to work with development engineers at the customer site and with the parent company. This position may require travel to support other customer site process issues, attend technical conferences, or additional training. The engineer's duties includes but not limited to:
- Develops new or modified process
formulations.
- Defines processing or handling
equipment requirements and specifications.
- Reviews processing techniques and
methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of
products. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale
manufacturing.
- Coordinates design requirement
review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure
compatibility of processing methods.
- Compiles and evaluates test data to
determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material
specifications.
- May conceive and plan projects
involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation
technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or
improved processes.
- Gathers, assesses, and communicates
development strategies to support future customer development needs.
- Support new equipment and process
development and implementation at customer development sites.
- Represent Kokusai position in user
meetings to support equipment and process issues.
- Provide trouble shooting
recommendations, and hands-on support when necessary.
- Review documentation to ensure
accuracy and suggest improvements.
Qualifications
- Education: Master of Science degree in related related field such as Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Semiconductor Manufacturing or equivalent education and work experience.
- Years of Experience: 4 years hands-on equipment experience
with Kokusai platform or 6 years of semiconductor equipment platform.
Experienced with LP-CVD, ALD, and/or Plasma Enhanced processes, 3 years of
leadership experience with excellent communications skills.
- Understanding of Semiconductor metrology
and process data
- Ability to create, modify, troubleshoot
process recipes.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot
process particle trends and issues.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot
process film trends.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. (approximately $120K - $160K) In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
