Customer Support Engineer - Boise, ID

 

The Customer Service Engineer is responsible for on-site servicing and/or modification of Kokusai Semiconductor products onsite at customer locations. Provides hands-on technical support at customer locations covering the operation of the equipment, as well as being responsible for the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities. Excellent communication skills and serves as a liaison between the customer and various Kokusai stakeholders in Japan and the USA, on a variety of technical and logistic responsibilities. Provides feedback to service, sales and technical support groups on customers needs and requests.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Located in Boise ID, but still able to travel for training and support as need (<15%)
  • Follows required Kokusai & customer safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Has the ability to work on time sensitive projects in a labor-intensive environment when necessary.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or travel on short notice, including unscheduled or other shifts.
  • Demonstrate good customer service skills and maintaining a professional behavior.
  • Assist with tool installation and removal when required.
  • Completes assigned work in a timely manner with supporting documentation.
  • Evaluate, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical equipment problems at customer site.
  • Evaluate equipment to determine type and extent of problem. Repairs involve troubleshooting which can be performed using standard procedures, as well as system level problems which have multiple causes, and no standard procedures exist.
  • Capable engineering database systems for parts, drawings and documentation, and usage with some assistance.
  • Show initiative in self-study and continuous improvement in Kokusai equipment knowledge and maintenance.
  • Learns and applies basic diagnostic techniques and the use of recommended documentation.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION: A.S. or B.S in related Electro/Mechanical or Electronic field or equivalent training

 

EXPERIENCE: 2 - 4 Years Preferred

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
