Customer Support Engineer - Phoenix, AZ


Responsible for on-site servicing and/or modification of Kokusai Semiconductor products onsite at customer locations. Provides hands-on technical support at customer locations covering the operation of the equipment, as well as being responsible for the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activities. Excellent communication skills and serves as a liaison between the customer and various Kokusai stakeholders in Japan and the USA, on a variety of technical and logistic responsibilities. Provides feedback to service, sales and technical support groups on customers needs and requests.



  • Located in Phoenix, AZ but able to travel to customer sites (<15%) as required to perform preventive and basic corrective maintenance.
  • Has the flexibility to work on shifts/overtime/stand-by/on-call/holidays when required.
  • Follows required Kokusai & customer safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Has the ability to work long periods of time in a labor-intensive environment when necessary.
  • Will be required to work overtime and/or travel on short notice, including unscheduled or other shifts as required.
  • Demonstrate good customer service skills and maintaining a professional behavior.
  • Assist with tool installation and removal when required.
  • Completes assigned work in a timely manner.
  • Utilize KSEC administrative dB systems for ECN, parts and drawing discovery and usage with some assistance.
  • Show initiative in self-study and continuous improvement in Kokusai equipment knowledge and maintenance skillsets (PM, CM, Customer service).
  • Learns and applies basic diagnostic techniques and the use of recommended documentation.




EDUCATION: A.S. or B.S in related Electro/Mechanical or Electronic field or equivalent training

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
